Except for modern caulking, paints, and varnishes, we use only traditional methods and materials to build or restore wooden boats. Restoring a finely made boat to its original condition is every bit as satisfying as building a new boat from scratch. Restoring a fine boat gives a new life to something which has acquired intrinsic value with age; that through design and craftsmanship has served someone well over the years.
